South Texas Technology Management (STTM) is the regional technology transfer office of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. STTM also serves UT Brownsville, and is affiliated with Texas State University and Stephen F. Austin State University.
STTM's mission is to provide comprehensive and integrated technology development services for our affiliates using the most effective protection and commercialization strategies to stimulate and capitalize on each University´s intellectual property portfolio, thereby achieving maximum economic and humanitarian value for the Institutions, their staff, and their communities.

miRNAs as novel therapeutic adjuvants for drug resistant breast cancers

 

A UT Health Science Center research team led by Manjeet Rao, Ph.D., has identified a microRNA that can uniquely sensitize drug-resistant, triple-negative breast cancer to chemotherapy drugs such as paclitaxel, providing a novel and potent potential therapeutic approach with lower toxicity and reduced side effects.
